The Wooten family

IN MEMORY OF DAD

I was born a simple man .....

"I was born into a family of 10 children .My father was a farmer and a stone mason .My mother was the boss !

Although I had sisters older than me,I was the eldest son .Nothing I did was wrong in my Mother's eyes. Guess that is why I always knew if I ask ,I recieved .Spoiled ,even 72 years ago ,children were spoiled .

I grew up listening to music and learned very early in life that I could pick up an instrument and play it .The fiddle was my favorite ,but I played the banjo ,guitar ,piano ,you name it ,I could play it and very well at that ! This seemed to be our family's tallent .My sisters played instruments also and so did my brothers .Every time we could we would grab up our instruments and someone would go to singing and next thing we knew we were having the time of our lives .Singing and playing well.....that was our life .

We enjoyed the music and we used it everyday .My kids and all the neices and cousins would sit in awe as our family played and sang .The time was free ,the music was free ,life was good .

Then one by one all my sisters were married and moved away ,and then it came my turn ."

I am in the process of workling on this site ...please be patient as I tell my dad's story through his eyes and list his family and as we can scan pictures and put in computer ,we will be adding here on this site ....In Memory of is the story of my dad and his children ....

There was a time when we knew where we were ,now it is memories of only where we have been ..
